Obituary of Linda Louise Olsen

Linda Olsen (nee White Vance) Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022, at the age of 80 years.

 

Linda was born in Edmonton, AB, on November 21, 1941. Linda was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Linda loved her children, grandkids, and all her family, she was keen to be involved in any activity her children and grandsons took part in. She liked working downtown Calgary as a receptionist. Linda enjoyed hockey, baseball, and she held a special love for her Calgary Flames. She was a lover of all animals, especially her beloved dogs, Pepper, Max, Token, Pepsi, and Bronx.

 

Linda will be most remembered for “how are you doing Linda?” "Oh, I can’t complain".

 

Linda is survived by her daughter Karli Olsen, son and daughter-in-law, Erik Olsen and Nicole Lee of Toronto, ON; three grandchildren,

Easton Olsen of Penticton, BC, Logan Olsen of St Catherines, ON, and Zachary Olsen of Penticton, BC. Linda is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, John (Mary) Vance, Paul (Wanda) Vance, Mel Vance, Peter Vance, Reita Vance, Colleen Vance, and Mary Vance; sister Janeen (John) Gough, and her beloved dog Bronx, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Linda was predeceased by her adoptive parents, Jenny Vance and Byron Vance; birth parents, Mr. and Mrs. White; three brothers, Richard Vance, John Vance, Hugh Vance; and beloved pets, Pepper, Max, Token, and Pepsi.

 

Linda’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Olsen family, the Johnstons (Marj and Cam), the Lee family (Gerald and Dorothy), the Kannarr family (Marjorie (nee Nalder) Richard), the Nalder family (Laura and Margene), the Stonehocker family (Kent), the Lebaron family (Valerie), and so many other wonderful friends and fellow coworkers.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Parkland Chapel (14540 Parkland Blvd SE, Calgary, AB), on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Cultural Hall. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Ms. Olsen’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
