Obituary of Jennie Binek

July 27, 1924 – Mielnica, Poland

November 7, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

“We had a wonderful Mother.
One who never really grew old;
Her smile was made of sunshine,
And her heart was solid gold.”

Jennie was born in 1924, in Mielnica, Poland, and immigrated to Hamilton in 1938. She married her husband Leon in 1945 and together they had five children, Zbyszek (Myrna), Richard (Cathy), Christine Payeur (Michel), Alice Ternes (Rodney), and Henry (Christine). They were blessed with ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Jennie was predeceased by her husband Leon Binek, parents Dominica and Anthony, sister Valerie Reniewick, and brother Henry Misztal.

Our Mother had a second wonderful life in Calgary, Alberta, with her daughter Alice, family and friends, and a loving journey with her companion Joe Mankiewicz

We will forever remember our Mother for her kindness, compassion, laughter, and beautiful presence. She always left an impression on everyone she met and brought out the best in them. There is no doubt she was a loving inspiration to her immediate family and grandchildren and has left a lasting legacy on everyone she met.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
