Joanne,
You have my sincere sympathy and prayers at this most difficult time. I remember Gerry for his wonderful sense of humor and warm smile when you hosted our Father Doucet ladies group. May your wonderful memories comfort you.
Love, Deana Demeter
I had the privilege of working with Gerry for five years on the team at Pan Alberta Gas/Southern Company/Mirant. My lasting impressions of Gerry are that he was always helpful, very pleasant, enjoyable to talk with and he had a great sense of humour.
My heartfelt condolences to Joanne and the whole family at this very sad time.
Gerry was my friend and colleague for 25 years. We first met in 1998 when I joined Pan Alberta Gas which was going through some upheaval at the time and continued to do so for the next five years or so. Throughout it all, Gerry projected this aura of calm as he dealt with corporate acquisitions, new staff, new bosses, new computer systems and changes of location. He may have been enduring inner turmoil but, to me, he appeared stoic with a “keep calm and carry on” attitude. Our career paths diverged in 2003 but a group of ex-Pan Alberta employees – the two Mary’s, Gerry, Sue and me - used to meet each week for coffee downtown to catch up on each other’s news. We have been doing this for 19 years, even resorting to meeting on Skype during the pandemic. We heard about Gerry’s different jobs, we celebrated the arrival of new grandchildren to his family and we eager to learn about Gerry and Joanne’s travels to far flung places. Alas, that will be no more, and we will sorely miss Gerry’s laughter and the gentle teasing that we indulged in with him.
Thank you, Gerry, for all your help at work during the difficult times and for your solid friendship for all these years. It was a privilege and pleasure to have known you. My condolences to Joanne and all his family.

Gerry was my supervisor in Financial Accounting at Dome Petroleum. Always good natured, positive and willing to mentor the young accountants in his group. I was saddened to learn of his passing. My condolences to the family.
