Even though I didn’t know George very long he had a special spot in my heart, always kind, funny and welcoming. I loved to go to the many bbq, dinner parties that he and Joni put on. He always made me feel welcome and special. I felt like I had known him for years.. that’s how he made people feel!
Miss you, big hugs to Joni and sincere condolences to any family or friends that loved and cared about him.
I snuck a video of him playing his guitar at one if his get together and I will treasure that and the memory of him burning around or property on Kootenay lake on the quad, always up for fun!! Rest in pease my friend!
Sincere condolences from Jill and James' "other family" Gert Mondor, Lucille and Glen Jakubowski, Denis Mondor & Darlene Reid, Aline & Brent Boux, Paulette Robbins & John Vangolen. We have donated $100 to the Calgary Food Bank in memory of George, and to honour his legacy of feeding people.
George was a work colleague, mentor, and most importantly a friend.
He was someone you could always count on to pick up the phone when you called.
He will be missed
My deepest condolences to Joni and the rest of his family.
Rest In Peace my friend
My thoughts and prayers are with Goerge and his family.
I worked with George from 1979 through 1986 while at Dome Petroleum.
He was a wonderful friend and I enjoyed his humor very much.
That is very sad. I had known George for a long time and we often exchanged emails. I still have the jokes, political commentary and photographs that he has sent me over the last seventeen years since I moved from Calgary. A great guy.
George was my mentor, the big brother I never had, and a very dear friend. To say he was special would be an understatement. I was blessed to know him and will cherish the memories of his wonderful dinner parties, the many beer and wings events, the hard fought project battles and his stories and jokes.
I am saddened that we lost George, a selfish thought...because his spirit is now being shared by many, and they will all be just that much better for it.
Good bye old friend, you will forever be in my thoughts, and we shall meet again.

So sad to hear the news of George's passing. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with George on a project and to call him a friend, thank you for the years of support.
Joni, the boys, and all your friends, we send our deepest sympathy. George. You are a once in a lifetime character and you will be missed.
I met George at a conference in New Orleans when he was working with SAP and I was with Petro-Canada.
We immediately struck up both a great friendship and business relationship, aided by George's generosity in supplying food, drinks, entertainment, jokes and the very first Bourbon Street Mardi Gras beads I ever owned! I still have them!
Over the years as our friendship grew, we worked on projects, had many successes and enjoyed many a fine meal and wine, and the occasional frustrating game of golf. George was very insightful and could simplify a complex situation into an obvious answer, all along providing wit and laughter to complement his wisdom. His love of life was contagious and it embraced everyone around him. I looked forward to my trips to Calgary to meet up with George and enjoy our time together.
I will miss you my friend. May you Rest in Peace.
Joni,
Kat and I send our deepest condolences to you and hope we can get the opportunity to meet you in person.
The Mardi Gras beads now have an additional meaning to me..

My deepest condolences for your family's loss. I met George when I worked at Enmax in 2000. I continued to follow his career and all his wonderful accomplishments through the people he supported and helped throughout the years. He was truly a great soul and made a positive difference in so many people's lives. He will be remembered always because of that.

The times I’ve spent with George and Joni and Family were absolutely terrific. George was a Great and True friend.
I will Always remember the fun times I had the opportunity spend with him and Joni and Cynthia and Bella.
I met George and Joni in Las Vegas while designing jewelry at the Venetian. I had the Privilege to design their rings.
George was by far the most Generous and Gracious Host I have met…” Oh George” I will never forget you!!!
Love Always and Forever… Robin
I first met George when he was assigned responsibility for the SAP account at Petro-Canada.
My initial impression was of a guy with a really quick wit and a repertoire of really bad jokes.
However, he quickly demonstrated his capability as someone who knew how to add value, not only for SAP but also for Petro-Canada.
George evolved from being a business associate to being a friend.
I had an opportunity to visit George in November. Despite the fact that he was resigned to his fate, he demonstrated no bitterness or regrets. He probably did 80% of the talking. Told a few bad jokes, and expressed a great love and appreciation for his family.
In particular, he was particularly proud of the book he had published. His legacy for his family.
My deepest condolences go out to Joni and his family.
George, may you rest in peace.
George and family were a part of our lives for many years. Always the quick-witted one, he was entertaining to many.
My condolences to Joni and the boys.
