Alberto Domingo Valencerina

Obituary of Alberto Domingo Alonso Valencerina

May 23, 1991 – Calgary, Alberta

February 27, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with profound sadness that the family of Alberto (Aldo) Valencerina announces his passing, on February 27, 2023, at the age of 31 years.

Aldo was born and raised in Calgary. He attended Monsignor J.S. Smith and Bishop Grandin before pursuing his post-secondary education at the University of Calgary. He graduated with an accounting degree because, as he said, “it’s a practical career.” His true interest lay in history, specifically, military history.

He had a wonderful imagination, which he expressed by writing short stories, mini novels, poetry and Dungeons & Dragons campaigns.

Aldo is most often described as an introvert by some; but friends describe him as having a wicked sense of humor and as a skilled video gamer. His best traits that resonated were his kindness, thoughtfulness, faithfulness, integrity and the way he was someone you could always count on.

There was so much more he could have achieved, so many more lives he could have touched. Those who know him know he accepted his condition with bravery, staunchness and dignity. If anything, he would have wished to be of greater service to the community and his country.

Surviving Aldo is his cherished family: his parents, Rene and Myra, and his brother, Rio (Arrigo) and numerous other family members.
