Obituary of Darlene Vivian WIEBE

August 23, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta
At 9:45 p.m. on August 23, 2019, Darlene’s prayers were answered when her Lord and Saviour welcomed her home.
Darlene was born in Brooks, AB on November 1, 1949 to Jake and Elizabeth Wiebe, the third of six children. She was raised on a farm near, Rosemary, AB and attended the Rosemary School. Darlene attended the Swift Current Bible College, and at the age of 18 moved to Calgary where she pursued her career as a LPN. She worked as an LPN at the Calgary General Hospital and then at various medical clinics until the age of 65.
Darlene loved camping with family and friends and loved football, specifically the Calgary Stampeders. She had the opportunity to travel to Australia and work in Inuvik.
Darlene loved music and singing in the church choir. Her favorite music was Southern Gospel.
She will be most remembered for her love for her family.
Darlene is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Wiebe, of Brooks, AB; brother Larry Wiebe (Vivian), of Brooks, AB, sister Dianne Porisky, Sherwood Park, AB, sister Brenda Leland (Gord) of Duchess, AB; sister-in-law, Marj Wiebe of St. Albert, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Darlene was predeceased by her father, Jake Wiebe; sister, Sherry Fenton, brother, Gord Wiebe; nephew, Donald Wiebe; and brother-in-law, Myron Porisky.
Funeral Services will be held at Harvest Hills Alliance Church, () on Friday, August, 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
