Obituary of Flo Waddilove

It is with profound sadness that the family of Florence “Flo” Waddilove announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the age of 95 years.
Flo was born in Burnley, England in 1927 to parents, Thomas and Lucetta. She immigrated to Canada in 1952, where she would go on to raise her three children in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, Quebec. In 1997, she followed her family west and settled in Calgary, Alberta where she would spend the rest of her life.
Flo was a devoted mother with a tenacious spirit (or simply stubborn to those who loved her most) who overcame numerous adversities throughout her life. From being a single mother to battling breast cancer and losing two children, Flo always persevered with an infectious smile that she was well known for.
Some of the things she enjoyed most in life were spending time with her family, playing a game of bridge with the girls, or spending an afternoon shopping.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter Joanne (Stephen); daughter-in-law Lynn; grandchildren, Chris (Chelsie), Elsa (Cody), and Ashley (Eric); as well as numerous other extended family members and friends.
Flo was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Lucetta; sisters, Ada, and Lou; and sons, David, and Peter.
A Memorial Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6), on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
