Obituary of Chad Vincent Opper

May 31, 1979 - Nelson, British Columbia

May 1, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Chad Vincent Opper on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many.

Chad was born May 31, 1979 in Nelson, BC. He lived in various places throughout his childhood in British Columbia but spent most of his later years in Calgary, AB. After getting his class 1 drivers license and obtaining a long-haul trucking job, Chad was able to enjoy much of Canada and met many people along the way.

He never knew a stranger and would always make you feel welcomed. He would do anything for a laugh. Anyone that truly knew him, knew he had such a big heart. He’d give you anything even if it wasn’t his to give. Chad never hesitated to let people know that he loved them.

Becoming an Uncle was a highlight of his life. He loved his nieces, Qwynn and McKennly and nephew Kane more than anything.  Spending time together meant so much to him. He was the best Uncky and so proud to hold the title. His greatest joys were his family.

Chad had a lot of interests. He loved music, especially hip hop, R&B, and songs spanning the 70's, 80's, and 90's. You could often hear him singing a song he had heard that day on the radio or just turning his own words into a song. Chad was a huge history buff. He was full of knowledge and loved sharing it with you. Over the past few years, Chad really got big into hunting. It was something he loved to do, and it was a great experience to be able to spend quality time with his dad, who was his best friend.

Chad is survived by his loving father, Oral Opper (Tracey Opper); mother Wendy Bliek (Gary Molyneux); sister Lacey Opper (Vincent Hildebrand); brother Ryley Ahorner; nieces, Qwynn and McKennly; nephew Kane; and numerous aunts , uncles and cousins. Chad was predeceased by his grandfather Ronald Opper, grandmother Lillian Opper and grandmother Barbara Lockyer.
