Condolences
I was saddened to learn of George's passing.
Please accept my condolences.
I will miss George’s wise and quiet council on community planning issues.
Sincerely,
David Illsey Palliser
We are sorry for your loss. I remember the Stebers from St Andrews. My Dad, Vince Kaytor spoke of George on a number of occasions, as I belive they were both on the planning committee for St Andrew's. I remember my Dad telling me how impressed he was with George's great ideas about development, & that his ideas brought the great idea of infills to Calgary, as better land use for housing. He always spoke so highly of the Stebers & several years ago I would see George & Trudy at Church & we always shared warm greetings. You are all in our thoughts & prayers. The Kaytor Family
Trudi & family:
We will all miss George's beaming smile and words of welcome to all he met! Please accept our condolences for his loss.

As the revered older cousin and adored nephew and grandson, George is a major figure in the Resch family story. He lived a fulfilled life indeed, with longevity and a sense of adventure that inspires us all. Reminiscing last evening, we once again landed on an assessment of George that we’ve collectively held forever—that he was one of the most interesting people we’ve known. A great thinker, conversationalist, and storyteller who—along with Trudi and the girls—was someone we always looked forward to catching up with. George’s connection to the ancestry and food that made up our shared Hungarian background formed the basis of many gatherings, which included his mother Katy’s delicious old-world recipes and hilarious stories of her farmer’s market bartering, too. In addition to likely sparking his interest in studying architecture at Ryerson, Jerry also credits George with introducing him to Hawkins Cheezies during a visit to Montreal in 1952—a snacking habit that continues to this day. From George and Trudi’s beautiful architectural home to their off-the-beaten-track travels, there was a creative and worldly touch in the Steber’s approach to everything. George’s engaging nature and signature silent laugh/nodding smile will be missed. Our deepest condolences to all who know and love him.
