Condolences
On behalf of the Gibbs family, sending our sympathy and prayers to all who loved Bill. I have known Bill my whole life. As a good friend of my Dad’s (Doug), I remember Bill throughout the years as a kind man while a big smile and generous heart.
We had a framed picture hanging in our house when I was little from the opening of the Abominable store and Bill was front and centre with his contagious smile. Bill has always been there for my Dad and visited him religiously over the past few years. Even though words were limited between them, I know how much my Dad appreciated the company and comfort of a good friend.
Most recently I feel blessed to have had coffee with my Dad and Bill in July where we shared stories and caught up about our families. He spoke fondly about his grandnieces and their activities and true to his big heart he directed me to “go see Manny, he will take care of you” related to my car needs.
We will miss you Bill.
Love

Bill was a larger-than-life personality, jovial and positive, and always had a smile for everyone. We will miss him in the neighbourhood. Rest in peace, Bill.
Marlene and Darren Hogarth
Bill Benedict was a good friend for over 50years and always enjoyed meeting and enjoying friends and family. Bill enjoyed the outdoors as much as possible whether skiing in his younger years or hiking , fishing or sharing outdoor activity with others. Bill’s interests in the outdoors extended into his business acumen whether through Racks Unlimited , the Abomidable Ski Shop or driving a bus for Brewsters in his early years. Bill always had an optimistic viewpoint which became very difficult for him in his later years.
Bill, May you rest in peace.
