Condolences
My deepest condolences to Anita and Alda's family. I am thinking of you at this difficult time. The great bond between the sisters will always be remembered.
Hello everyone, my name is Sabine Story, and I am thankful to say a few words about my dear friend Alda.
We gather here today to remember and celebrate the life of a remarkable person who touched our hearts in so many ways. Alda was my best friend of over 33 years, was not just a friend….she was family.
Alda and I shared countless memories… one of my first memories was just after Ryan was born, and I went over to her house to bring her a little gift. While visiting her, we sat in her martindale kitchen chatting,…and I noticed her dishwasher was smoking, with the smell of burning. I urged her to check, and she said oh no that’s normal. Finally, she open/ the dishwasher to find the plastic container had melted away, and we howled with laughter…..from that moment on, I knew this was a perfect friend for me.
We shared many moments….from her Christmas tree toppling over…speaking of Christmas, let’s not forget adventures in baking….countless varieties of cookies. We also spent a great many holidays freezing our bottoms off at zoo lights and boo at the zoo. Alda loved any sort of holiday or reason to plan a celebration.
I remember trying to inspire Alda to Garden. I went to her house, dug out a section of garden of her yard,…..trying to convince her that planting a garden will bring her joy. I planted all sorts of things….bulbs, vegetables, perennials….she looked at me like I was crazy and insisted she wasn’t going to garden, because she was very afraid of worms and snakes. But many years later, that was one of the things that brought her a lot of joy and a lot of peace and happiness.
We spent every spring going from one garden centre to another….collecting things, and we did that for great many years. She created some of the most beautiful arrangements I had ever seen. We truly inspired each other.
We faced our first adventures as young adults, and then on to the trials and triumphs of our adult lives and the perks and stresses of parenthood.
We faced life's challenges together, offering each other unwavering support and a listening ear. Through thick and thin, we laughed, cried, and grew together.
What made Alda truly special was her boundless compassion and kindness. She had an incredible ability to make anyone feel valued and loved. Her warm smile could brighten even the darkest of days, and her generosity knew no bounds.
She embraced the challenges of life each day with determination and enthusiasm, reminding us all to savor every moment. We shared countless adventures, and I'm grateful for every one of them.
As we mourn our loss, let us also remember the joy that Alda brought into our lives. The laughter, the love, and the unforgettable moments we shared. In this time of grief, let us also cherish the gift of the many enduring friendships.
It is very difficult to say goodbye to someone who was more than a friend; she was family. But let us take solace in knowing that the love and memories we shared will live on in our hearts forever.
As we say our farewells today, let us celebrate a life well-lived, a friendship that was truly extraordinary, and a person who made the world a better place.
Rest in peace, dear Alda. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
Goodbye, until we meet again.

To the family of Alda, Ron and I wish to express our deepest sympathy on the passing of your dear daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. We had the pleasure of knowing Alda for the past 12 years. She became more than our hairstylist. We considered her a friend and confidant. We loved our conversations with her and the many laughs that resulted. Her cuts and styling always left us invigorated and feeling our best. To Anita and all of Alda’s family, we offer our sincerest condolences. Alda will be greatly missed and may she rest in peace.

I can’t express how sorry I am for the loss of my friend, and your daughter, mother, sister, mother-in-law and grandmother. Every trip to the salon over the past 42+ years I’ve been going to her was a pleasure, she was always full of chat and gave the best scrub during the shampooing and best cut after. And if the conversation turned to anything even remotely negative, she always added ‘but on a good note…’ These last couple of years I was truly amazed and impressed by her calm acceptance of the situation she found herself in and her determination to live fully every minute she had left. What an inspiration she was and how grateful I am to have known her. As time passes I hope the warm embrace of wonderful memories will soften the sharp pain of the loss you feel today.
My heart breaks for Alda’s family and friends.
She was such a vibrant loving woman who delighted everyone with her smile and charm! She was a beautiful fashionista and hair stylist andshared her love of both with everyone she met. She was so proud of her family and her garden. They made her so happy. She truly was a special lady and I’m so honoured to have been a part of her life. May she rest in eternal peace amongst the angels. Love you always, Alda
So very sorry for your loss of Alda...such a kind person, and far braver than she thought she was.
To all of Alda’s family.
I have no words to express how sorry I am for the loss of Alda. She was a beautiful person inside and out. May her memories give you all comfort in the weeks ahead.
Fly high sweet Alda. You have truly earned your “Angel Wings”.
We will meet again.
