Obituary of Frances Elizabeth Bibeau (nee Cranstone)
June 1, 1943 - Ottawa, Ontario
October 7, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta
Fran passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by love after a long, courageous and private battle with cancer.
Fran was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Hubert (Pat) Bibeau on May 31, 2022. She is survived by her sons, Rick and Mark; daughter Janice Clay; grandson Tyler Clay; sister Joan Bolam and brother-in-law (and love) Alan and their family in Ontario.
Pat and Fran married in 1962 and started their family in 1963 before making Calgary their home. She was a loving and nurturing mother who sacrificed to enrich the lives of her loved ones. Her talent for creating Halloween costumes, special birthday cakes and unforgettable Christmases (not to mention the best picnic lunches you could imagine) are cherished memories.
Fran spent many years as a leader in the Girl Guides of Canada, a movement that was dear to her heart. Afterward she found joy in knitting countless baby blankets for donation to the Alberta Children's Hospital and Crisis Nursery. Fran was extremely talented and artistic, she participated in several craft sales over the years. Her life was rich with friends, and her weekly coffee clatches were a source of joy, and we thank the many ladies that attended over the years.
Thank you to the palliative home care team for their tender care. If friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made directly to the Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd. N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 2P5 Telephone: (403) 205-3966, email donorservices@cancer.ab.ca. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Fran’s family at www.MHFH.com.
In living memory of Frances Bibeau, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes.
