I had the privilege to know George during my 28 years with the Calgary Police Service, what a character! Devoted first to his family, a great Sergeant looking after his rookies (not me!)and a good all round first class copper. Our paths haven't crossed since I moved to BC but I will always remember him to be a fair and considerate person who will leave a wonderful legacy for all those who have dealings with him, Rest in Peace my friend
George will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with him and the family..Dan and Marj Jenkins

To Joan, Jean & Gary & family, Brian & MaryAnn & family,
We were blessed to have known George and the Gourdinne family for 40 plus years! They are/were amazing people! People who became our extended family! George was an amazing man and was truly loved by us and our children. He was an inspiration to so many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him! It was so nice to catch up with him at his grand daughters/our nieces wedding in Banff, just a few weeks ago! A memory that we will treasure!
R.I.P. George, you will be missed but your memories will live on in all of us!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Joan and her family at this difficult time
Our deepest sympathy is sent to you Joan & all of George's family. We will dearly miss our freind & neighbor of over 50 years. Please know you are in our thoughts & prayers through this great loss.
Joan, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. You provided such kind words and strength during the recent passing of my Dad - I can only hope I can offer you some now. I enjoyed seeing you both around the complex and walks around the lake. George will be missed by many.
George - thank you for your service - this retired CPS dispatcher will keep watch over Joan. Rest easy kind sir.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Joan and family members.
I first met George in 4 District back in 1981 where he held all accountable for spot on reports and charging documents.
George was a true gentleman, treated everyone with respect, especially the recruits, and encouraged the best out of all.
Susanne had the pleasure of working along side George on the CPVA board and will relish those days.
Rest easy George, you will be sorely missed.

One of fave memories of my grandpa is a childhood one. We used to watch hockey night in Canada together often. He had a big recliner chair in the basement and I would sit in his lap and we would yell and swear at the tv when our teams weren’t doing well or we didn’t agree with a call the ref made. One night, grandpa leaned a little too far back in the recliner and tipped the whole thing backwards, smashed into a lamp and broke it. Both of us were laughing and laughing. Grandma was less impressed with our shenanigans, but it always remained a funny memory in our family.
Joan and Family...Beverley and I are very saddened by the passing of George. We have many fond memories of camping and visitations with each other over the years. I have so many good memories of the mid 70's when George and I were Zone Sets under Insp Ron Tarrant and others. George was always there when you needed him and he was only too willing to help out. He will be surely missed by many and most certainly by Bev and I and anyone who got to know him. May he rest in peace and we hope the Good Lord can provide comfort for you in your time of great sorrow. Jack and Beverley Mullins at Calgary
