Obituary of Charles William Hancock

Charles William ‘Bill’ Hancock, of Cochrane, Alberta passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the age of 80 years.
Bill was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and raised in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. He was a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce.
Bill proved to be a very successful salesman and businessman throughout his career; this was highlighted by his position as Vice President and General Manager of the Royal LePage Commercial Real Estate branch in Calgary.
Bill accomplished much through his life and was particularly passionate about sports, including golf, which he played regularly as a former member of Willow Park Golf Club. He was an avid sports enthusiast and former development basketball coach.
In his later years, Bill was a voracious reader and was passionate about life. He worked out regularly and enjoyed billiards with friends. Not one to mince words, he was a straight shooter with strong values, never afraid to exercise his sharp wit and sarcasm. He enjoyed daily life with Judy living in the Lofts in Cochrane and was a vibrant part of the community there.
Besides his loving wife Judy, Bill is survived by his three daughters, Angela Medeiros and Elizabeth Stady (Paul) of Calgary, AB, and Maren Hancock of Birmingham, UK; sons-in-law Curtis Vierling (Zeva Mah) and Leigh Vierling of Calgary, AB; grandsons Cole Mederios of Edmonton, AB, and Dane Mederios of Calgary, AB; as well as his step-grandchildren, Jade Mah-Vierling, Kale Mah-Vierling, Rayel Vierling, Lexi Vierling, and Rian Vierling of Calgary, AB.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at the Willow Park Golf & Country Club (639 Willow Park Dr SE, Calgary, AB T2J 0L6) on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
