Condolences
Dear Joan, Ben and Bev,
You have been much on my heart and mind over the past couple of weeks as you have had to come to grips with the sudden passing of your beloved Douglas. May you know that my heartfelt prayers continue and that I am holding you close.
Thank you for opening your home and hearts to me so that we could talk about Doug and give thanks for the life that he lived among his family and friends.
God bless,
Rev. Linda Hunter

Dear Mr and Mrs Gross and Bev I’m writing this note to offer my deepest condolences to you and your family, I am so sorry for your loss. Doug was a great friend for me as was Jeff and Phil, we were pretty much inseparable growing up in Dalhousie, but as we grew older I fell out of touch as our lives went different directions and lived in different places. I have so many great memories to reflect on, from trips to the lake, snowmobiling in the mountains and the lake and sometimes through the kitty walks of Dalhousie after a Grey Cup game if there was enough snow, working at Park Place Projections for Ben and with Doug and attending the best Christmas parties ever, playing pool and scuffle board in our basements, our trip to Hawaii, and of course Doug being my groomsmen. Those memories and many more will always be engraved in my heart. My heart goes out to you please except our sincere condolences Mr and Mrs Gross & Bev.

Dear Mr & Mrs Gross & Bev. Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of a wonderful son, a great brother and an outstanding friend that I will miss dearly. Although Doug and I haven’t seen each other for a few years, it was known that he was always there to reach out to and gladly come out to have a beer and chat. Many of my fondest moments in life are times spent at the cabin on Sylvan with Doug, friends, and on several occasions over the years with you all. Sitting around the fire, or the kitchen table, water skiing, chopping wood, spending pure quality time chatting and playing games in a time before technology. Doug is a true friend and excellent human that I am honoured to have been able to share pieces of our lives with over the decades. My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with you during this very difficult time.

I was so heartbroken to hear of Doug’s passing. Although him and I had lost touch for a number of years I still remember the wonderful times we shared in our teens, twenties and thirties. He was always such a great friend. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
