Obituary of Randhir Kaur Dhillon

Randhir Kaur Dhillon (nee Sandhu) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the age of 85 years.

Randhir was born in Sheikupura, Punjab, Pakistan on August 15, 1938. She married Avtar Dhillon in 1958 and they had three beautiful children together.

Randhir moved to Calgary in 1988 when she emigrated from India. She enjoyed exploring Calgary with her best friend, Malkit Kaur. Randhir loved spending time with her friends and family and chatting for hours. She will be most remembered for her sense of humor and strong personality.

Randhir is survived by her one daughter and son-in-law, Sukhwinder Kaur and Harjit Singh; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Hargurbir Singh and Baljinder Kaur, and Gurdev Singh and Sukhwant Kaur; eight grandchildren, Amandeep, Atinder, Gurpreet, Pavneet, Balpreet, Sharanjeet, Harkeet, and Gursewak; and eight great-grandchildren, Avani, Arvyn, Subaig, Nihal, Arjaan, Arzoi, Elahi, and Aikam.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Calgary Crematorium, 3219 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Calgary Crematorium, 3219 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Dhillon’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Randhir’s family here.

In living memory of Randhir Dhillon, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Calgary Crematorium, 3219 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2M 3A6, Telephone: 403-243-8200.
