Celebration of Life
Condolences
In 1964/65, Norm and I were roommates and assistant varsity hockey coaches at the University of Wisconsin. Lots of good memories, and he taught me much about the fine points of hockey. It seemed like every time it was his turn to cook, we got calves liver in tomato sauce...never got tired of it. RIP Norm.
So sorry to hear Mike and condolences to you and Kelly.
Lots of great memories, going all the way back to Hilltoppers days! He had the opportunity to be a great coach to a lot of kids, both on and off the field.
Dear Bolitho Family,
As a little kid I watched your Father/Grandfather paly football with my brother David. Later as a student at Soo Collegiate I had the great honour to be coached by Coach Bolitho as a Senior Football player. During those three years we lost only 1 game in our league and won the Northern Ontario Championship (NOSSA) all 3 years (66,67,68). From those teams numerous of us went on to play football, hockey or both at the university/college level. An incredible run!
The key to this success was Coach Bolitho! He instilled in us the qualities of preparation, hard work, football smarts and above all "teamwork"! He was the consummate teacher and motivator!
The many philosophies and skills that I learned from Coach guided me through my professional life in teaching, educational leadership and indeed my personal life.
Coach Bolitho's impact gave me, like other fortunate young men success in our lives.
I think that any successes we had are a tribute to Coach Bolitho's Legacy.
Sincerest Regards and Condolences,
Jim (Jake) Johnston ( Collegiate Class of '69)
Co-Captain Collegiate Wildcat Football Team
Norm and I were teammates on the Sault Collegiate High School football team, which won the Ontario championship in 1959. We were also teammates on the Sault Wolves basketball team which won the provincial championship in 1960. Norm was the best athlete on both teams and the most valuable player. He was also a consummate teammate and inspiring leader by example of discipline, tenacity, and courage. The lessons I learned from Norm often served me well during the various stages of my later journey in life. His moral compass is a constant guide.
I will miss him greatly,
David Johnston
