Obituary of Joyce Heck

September 20, 1937 - Bolton, Great Bolton & Lever, England

November 25, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Joyce Heck (nee Hardman) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the age of 86 years.

She was born into a family of six children, as the only daughter to Francis and Alice Hardman.

Joyce was predeceased by her husbands Leonard Lord and Edward Heck. She is also predeceased by her parents and four brothers, as well as other extended family members.

She is survived by her children, Joy (Bill), Theresa (Karsten), Steven (Krista) and surrogate daughter Cindi.  Her five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. She is also Survived by her brother Francis and numerous nieces, nephews within Canada and over seas.

Joyce started her life in England, where she was involved in many areas of work, such as theater and Marks & Spencer. She immigrated to Canada in the 50’s, where she worked in customer service.

She was part of the Loyal Order of the Moose lodge, The Royal Canadian Legion #264, Calgary Ambassador CB Club, and the Boys Scouts of Canada.

Joyce loved knitting, bingo, reading, dancing, bowling, camping, she enjoyed the occasional Caesar, and dressing up for Halloween. Joyce always made Len dress up as the female character, in the costume she made herself.

She always dressed herself with elegance and grace.

The love of her life where her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all her fur babies.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Heidi, mom’s caregiver, and friend of many years.  A thanks to her good friend Margo, for showing her the ropes and keeping her busy.
