Condolences
I am only now hearing of Dave's passing and sorry that I did not know sooner. I was driving home along Memorial Drive, passing the Lazy Loaf and Kettle, which brought me back to the last time I saw Dave. He was struggling with his illness at the time but was in great spirits. I had worked with Dave and we became good friends in Edmonton years back but we lost touch when I moved to Calgary more than 20 years ago.
We re-connected in Calgary by way of a funny encounter also along Memorial Drive but on the bike path at Angel's Cafe. Deidra and I had just stopped for a quick break from our bike ride when I heard his unmistakable laugh and instantly knew who it was. He and Paula were out for a walk and we immediately struck up a conversation. We met several times later at the Lazy Loaf and Kettle, talking about old times and catching up. Time telescoped in these conversations as it does when you re-connect with particularly good friends. He was full of great stories and we spent hours reminiscing, laughing and complaining as old men do. Although we didn't hang out much in Edmonton or Calgary, I considered him one of my special friends. I will miss him. Best to Paula and his family.
Paula and family, I just heard this news. I am so sorry to hear of my friend Dave's passing. As you may remember he and I became close friends through Lambda chi in the early 90's. He stepped in as our alumni advisor and we hit it off from our first meeting. He was a kind man, with a gentle soul and a hearty laugh. My condolences to you and the family. He will be greatly missed, but I am confident his legacy will remain with the friends and family he has touched over his life. A great man may leave us, but his footprints and impact are left with the family and friends he created during his lifetime. I am so sorry to hear of his passing,
Paula and Family,
We are sorry to learn of Dave’s passing and can only hope and pray that he did not suffer very long. Our thoughts are with all of you at this most difficult time. May your many good memories soon outweigh the sorrow you are feeling.
Love,

I have so many great memories of Dave from my university days in Edmonton. He had such a positive outlook on life. He had a unique sense of humour and there was always a smile on his face.
Our thoughts are with you.

We are so sorry for your loss Paula, Lisa… Our sympathies to the entire family. We had the chance to be around Dave several times in recent years. Dave was a gentleman, he was kind and respectful. He was not usually the one talking the most, but he would always have something to share and make us smile or laugh. His laugh was contagious, and we only have positive memories . He will be missed..
