Condolences
Peter Janssen [Vanden Dungen} I have many fond memories of Martin. How he came to help rebuild the barn after we lost one to a fire. The stories he shared along with his sense of humour. He may be gone but he will not be forgotten.
Dear Norma, Tony, Maria, Agnes and all the Vredegoor families. We have known Martin and his family from the day they came to Canada. My Dad (Gerald Vanden Dungen) helped pick them up at the train station. We became friends right from the start.,.we both had big families and for every Vredegoor there was a Vanden Dungen the same age . We spend many hours together. Martin was good friends with our brother John and when he passed away Martin was there for us. A memory we have of Martin and John . They were bugging our little brother Peter and Mom told them if they didn’t quite she was coming out with the broom.well before t long out she came . John took of running but Martin thinking he was company just stood there. Needless to say the next time he ran just as fast . When our Mom passed away Martin was out touring the country with relatives from Holland .,When he heard of her passing he drove many hours just to attend her funeral with his relatives in tow., . Our deepest condolences to Norma and all the family.,our thoughts and prayers are with you. Wink and Anne Shaw

I am a tourist guide with the BlueShirts and always looked forward to working with Martin at the Plaza Machado . I can still hear his novel description of the Olas Altas area as NOT BEACH , NOT BEACH ! Nice knowing you , Martin .
My condolences to Martin's family and friends. The Mazatlán tourist aide volunteers, cruise ship passengers, and local residents will miss his help every day a cruise ship is in port.
Martin would walk a mile to the market in Mazatlan for a fresh Pineapple Pie, still warm from the oven.
If there were not many and fearing the next time there would be none.
Martin would buy Two Pineapple Pies....Walking the mile back to enjoy on the veranda over looking the Sea of Cortez....Ah !!!! PIE
I am so sorry to hear of the unfortunate passing of Martin. I knew Martin through our volunteer work for the Mazatlan Tourist Aides and he will be missed by the folks that worked along side with him. Please accept our most sincere heartfelt condolences.

We meet Martin in Mazatlan, He had a Love for Mexican Baked Pie, Apple or Cherry, Some times we would meet on the street Martin carrying a fresh pie from the market to the condo . We never knew Norma got any , She'd say "that his pie". Martin loved meeting people especially other Tourists in Mazatlan...
Sending sincere heartfelt condolences to all the family. Have fond memories of Martin when he and his siblings would come to our farm to meet the school bus back when we were all youngsters. Had a good visit with Maryin at the 100th Hand Hills Stampede. Rest in Peace Martin
