Condolences
Lee was a remarkable soul, whose kindness, motivating spirit, and calming presence touched the hearts of all who knew him. Lees strong morals, thoughtful nature and inspiring altruism made him a great friend to many. People naturally gravitated towards his personal demeanour and he loved helping others with genuine warmth. He had a well lived life and lasting impact on those fortunate enough to share on his journey. My thoughts are with his family and I know his memory and outlook on life will continue on in all of us that knew him.
Lee-or Fritzy as I called him- was glorious.
He was playful, humane, authentic and original.
He overflowed with tenacity, generosity and kindness- and was never without words but his choice of what to say when was sublime.
The very thought of him demands I live more fully and truly.
I loved him.
My sincere condolences to Lee's family. I work at Calgary Coop and I remember him as always cheerful, smiling and kind
He will surely be missed by anyone who had the honor to know him. RIP.
Rest in peace my fellow "Foody" Neighbour + Good Friend. Mark Shmygol

Lee was a huge mentor in my life and career . He always was quick with a joke , a smile , lending ear and kind heart . Our passion for Disney gave us many things to talk about each time we saw each other . He truly was a support for all he touched ,and he really lived by his words . He was a true positive spirit to walk this earth and brining so much happiness to others . He will truly be missed .
Karin and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Lee’s passing. He inspired so many people to be their greatest. He had a huge impact on my life and I know I am just one of many.

My sincere condolences to you and the rest of your families. I am truly saddened to hear this.
I met Lee way back in my 20’s when we worked together for Red Devil in Calgary. The day I met him I could feel his positive energy and knew I was fortunate to have a mentor like him. Years later a chance meeting in a Moxies in Langley he helped me once again get back into his circle of mentorship and guidance. He taught me to reach higher(while standing on a chair with my arms in the air) and always be grateful for experiences, both good and bad.
We always tried to keep in touch when our restaurant days were over. I now wish I would have been able to have one more reach higher conversation.
The world has lost an amazing human.
Hugs to all of you.

To Karin and Family,
We had the pleasure of working with Lee for many years at Calgary Co-op. Lee was a rare mentor and a true leader and has left a legacy of leadership for all of us. We were all lucky to know Lee, we shared many conversations as he was so easy to talk to. To this day, I still have some of his leadership tips of the day he would send out. Condolences to all of Lee's family, may all the good memories help you at this difficult time. RIP Lee.

To Karin and family,
I met Lee, while he was working, as the vice president of Human Resources.
In business. where many people come and go, it was hard to forget Lee.
Lee was vibrant, passionate and full of kindness towards everyone. He had a way of making a personal interaction with him, be totally focused on you, and you left him feeling a little better. A little brighter about life.
His light has been and will continue to be greatly missed, since he left the company.
Having lost a sister also, at this time of year, due to an aggressive disease, i can relate to how tough this is for you all.
Hold the rest of your family tight, knowing God has another angel, but the years you had with him brought you all closer together, in love.
I personally will honor my sisters memory, as well as Lee daily, with kindness to others.
A bit more patience, a kind gesture. More compassion.
All of the attributes that Lee shared with others.
May you rest in well deserved peace sir.
Never forgotten!
You are greatly missed Lee! From our unlikely first introductions and sharing a beverage on the garage pad to our friendship that lasted beyond your time at Calgary Coop. You brought infectious energy to everyone that had the pleasure to interact with you. Thank you for your support and friendship over the years!!!
Tracy and I send our deepest condolences to Karin and the entire family, our thoughts and best wishes are with you!
Karin and family. Arlene and I send our deepest condolences. Lee was a great man, father, co-worker, and friend. His positive attitude was infectious and he would do everything he could for you to help you in life and just be there. He will be deeply missed.
I shall miss you my brother! Gone too soon but never forgotten as you are waiting around the corner.... We shall meet again!
To Leon... the best man I've ever known.
So many people have been blessed to know you. Somehow you made us all feel like we had a "special " relationship with you.
For me, you were larger than life... someone I looked up to as a teenager, in awe of your wisdom, grateful for how you truly listened to me and encouraged me to trust my instincts. Later, as a confused and overwhelmed young woman, you changed the trajectory of my life with one phrase. As I drove away from your (and Karin's) home in Mississauga headed to Calgary, I saw a scrap of paper on my dashboard..."Hakuna Matata" was all it said but it meant so much more. You were always confident I'd find my way. Over the years "no worries " has gotten me through many of life's challenges. And now, when I miss you so much that it hurts, I repeat those words and I am comforted knowing you will continue to guide and support us all.
I also want to thank you for the "special " relationships you had with Emi and Joey, their adored Uncle Lee, mentor and friend.
I love you and miss you so much Leon
I send my condolences to the entire Family. I was stunned to learn of Lee’s passing and deeply saddened. He was a man so full of life, imagination and creativity. In an industry where human relationships are paramount, Lee was a champion. I had the good fortune to work with Lee and learned many things from him. He was a Prince. Again, my condolences to the Family. May you be comforted by many fine memories of his life’s accomplishments , John Rothschild
Lee certainly lived that mantra. He was great human and made everyone feel good about themselves. "The answer is yes, what is the question"! I looked up to Lee, he made me feel valued, smart, important. He did that for a lot of people didn't he? A little piece of him, his wisdom, positive influence lives on through me and the teams I lead. Rest in peace my friend, and thank you.
Dear Karin, Alex and Leah
The world has lost a Prince of a Man with Lee's passing and my heart hurts for all of you. Please know that Lee and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I was pleased to have seen you and Lee before my move to Ontario in 2021 and to have enjoyed his contagious and always positive outlook for what the future would hold. I will always cherish his and your support for Katrina during her battle with brain cancer as it meant so much to her and our family. We were so blessed to have you all in our lives. I know Lee's passing is leaving a huge void in your lives and i hope all the fond memories you have with him will bring some comfort at this difficult time. He is in heaven, at peace and will be watching over all of you. You have my deepest sympathies.
Andrew Galarnyk
Uncle Lee, All your life you were a wonderful example for us all. You had a way of finding the best-of in the everyday and sharing, always sharing; the best gravy, the best guitar memory, the best Gemütlichkeit, the best pie, the best dog treat guy, the best Sous Chef, the best patient man to your loud sisters-in-law, and you are truly the best person I’ve ever known. I am forever grateful that you were such a special uncle to my kids, helping, listening, guiding and having fun. It’s been a wonderful life with countless shared family memories.
You wanted to make this world a better place. And you did. Thank you.
Those words his “ impact” on others is so true. I don’t know anyone who met and got to know Leon and did not feel the strength of his passion and love for his fellow man. My deepest sympathies to his family for the loss after such a long trying time. I can’t imagine your sorrow, I share a bit of it and hope the memories made by Lee and yourselves warm your hearts in this very sad time. Much love.
