Chris Noh

Obituary of Chris Noh

September 9, 1999 – Busan, South Korea

December 23, 2023– Cold Lake, Alberta

Seungchan (Chris) was born in Busan, South Korea on September 9, 1999. He moved to Calgary, AB in 2009 and his family immigrated to Canada in 2013.

Chris graduated from Centennial High School in Calgary, AB in 2017. He attended Grande Prairie Regional College with a college basketball scholarship. He also studied psychology at Mount Royal College.

He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Avionics Technician in February 2022. After completing the basic training, he was stationed at the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering in Borden, ON in April 2022, and at the 409 Tac F Sqn in Cold Lake, AB in November 2023.

His favorite activity was snowboarding. He also loved skating and swimming, and playing badminton, soccer, and especially basketball, which he had a great passion for.

Chris’ most memorable vacations were his family’s trip to Toronto to see Niagara Falls as well as the family’s first Canada trip to Waterton Lakes National Park. His favourite saying was “You have to be strong and be able to take care of yourself in order to take care of others.”

Some of his happy memories include going to Las Vegas with his basketball team, having a good time with his family in Banff, having BBQ at Fish Creek, going to Galaxyland in Edmonton, eating Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and moving into his family’s first house in Signal Hill.

Chris was his grandparents' treasure number one, his parents' good, beautiful and precious son, and the proud older brother of Jin-woo. He was such a strong pillar of his family and a great hope. Chris always brought joy and brightness everywhere he went. He was considerate and respectful to everyone.

Chris was survived by his father, Jae-Kyung Noh, his mother, Kyung-Hwa Han, and his younger brother, Jin-Woo. Chris received a call from heaven and left us. His life wasn’t long, but the love and hope he gave us was infinite, and they will remain with us forever.
