It is with great sorrow to inform that Diane Lorraine Lewin, 69 years of age has passed away peacefully throughout the night on Thursday January 4, 2024. She will be deeply missed by her three sons, as well as many others that have had the pleasure of being within her grace; Diane loved and cared deeply for everyone that was close to her.
She was born in Unity, SK, on June 30, 1954, raised on a small farm outside of town. She had a passion for activities around the farm and involving herself in such events like the 4H club.
Diane left the farm in 1972, at the young age of eighteen and set off to Calgary, AB, with her older sister Betty, meeting her husband of 25 years, Harold Douglas O’Sullivan, shortly after. Together, they brought to this world three boys; Douglas David John O’Sullivan (43), Ryan James O’Sullivan (40) and Trevor Francais O’Sullivan (38). Diane was so proud of her three boys and took pride watching them grow into the men they have become.
Diane moved to Airdrie in 1993, where she spent the remaining years of her life. She was an active volunteer working with the elderly at Bethany Care Center and could be commonly visited with at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. It was through St. Paul’s Catholic Church where Diane progressed in becoming sacristan through the church, as she had a passion for working with people of the church and was proud to be able to distribute the sacrament to the people who were unable to attend church.
When she was not involved with the church, Diane loved working on her ceramics, her favorite theme to paint was Christmas, her favorite holiday.
Diane’s most memorable vacation was in 1996, when her parents flew all the boys in the family to California for a weeklong trip. She got to enjoy time with her boys, her sisters, Eilene and Kathy, and her mother, Kay, and her many nephews.
Diane is survived by her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Douglas O’Sullivan of Airdrie, AB, Ryan O’Sullivan (Cassidy Fandrick) of Airdrie, AB, and Trevor O’Sullivan (Amber) Airdrie, AB; four grandchildren, Rachel O’Sullivan of Calgary, AB, Savanna O’Sullivan of Airdrie, AB, Everly O’Sullivan of Airdrie, AB and Jack O’Sullivan of Airdrie, AB.
