I am deeply saddened by the loss of Herbert. His leadership and positive influence have left a lasting impact on me. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
Dear Shirley: I am so sorry to learn of Herbie’s death. You were a great team. I still have one of your beautiful ornaments on my Christmas Tree every year and other treasures too, so ‘Downshore’ is never far from my heart. I send you blessings and fond remembrances from NS. Meredith ♥️
Shirley, Mike and Carmela from Cochrane United Church want to send their condolences to you for your loss. We only knew Herb for a short while, but we enjoyed sitting in with him as he regaled us with many stories of “the good old days”.
Shirley and family;
Our deepest sympathies.
Our condolences to Shirley and family. He was a hard-working man and highly respected in his community. He enjoyed "keeping busy", and in retirement was often seen helping Shirley with her "Sea glass" crafts and getting them back and forth to fairs and shows. A great father and partner! He will surely be missed.
Shirley, I am so sorry for your loss of Herbie. He was such a kind and gentle man that always has such a warm and friendly smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Lelia (Ramsay) Cook

My heart is so sad. Herbie was like a second father to me and his physical presence will be missed, however, the memories of him and his stories will live on. Janeville water fights from roof tops, backyards, and even inside the cottage one time...sorry Shirley it really wasn't my fault, will always be remembered and cherished. In fact, the last time I talked to Herbie he said "Shirl and I are talking about going to Janeville next summer and we can have a water fight then. Herbie was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and uncle and loved by all those who knew him. His smile, loving nature and kind, gentle demeanour will be remembered always. Shirley, Ronda, Paula and Audra and all his grandchildren - my thoughts are with you during this time. Wish I could be there to hug you all. Love Carol
Herbie's strength was that no matter who or where, he always made people feel comfortable and welcomed.
His light-heartedness and love for his family always great conversation and stories with me. I enjoyed many moments and recollections of his life and family history.
Herbie always had a smile on his face, especially when he was enjoying his grandchildren's sporting events. He was always so proud of them and impressed with their abilities.
My condolences too his entire family including his nieces and nephews who treasured and loved his playfulness, his protection,his love and forgiveness. RIP and God Bless you Herbie.
Steven Abfalter and Family.
