Condolences
In 2000, we purchased the "Cabin that Jack Built" and were so intrigued by its long history that we asked to meet the Seller. Little did we know that this meeting would blossom into a 24 year friendship with Sheila. She was a remarkable woman; generous and loving towards all of us and we shared many memorable moments. We will miss her.

We feel privileged to have had Sheila in our lives....we met her as a good friend of my dearly departed Aunt Dorothy O'Byrne,
many years ago. As Sheila's own family was far away, she often said we were her family here and we loved it when she could join us for gatherings. Sheila was also a most gracious hostess and we had an open invitation to visit her home and stay over..."and Greg can bring his tools" she would sweetly add as she always appreciated the little repairs he did for her. The later years may have stolen Sheila's health and independence, but never her beautiful spirit or smile....we will miss this beautiful woman and know she rests peacefully now..
Your adopted family...Val and Greg
We grieve the loss of Sheila who was a gentle, gracious and caring friend. When Hospice Calgary was a fledgling organization and I a staff member, Sheila became a volunteer and her service subsequently extended to Rosedale Hospice for close on a couple of decades where she would work at reception over weekends when no one else was available.
We enjoyed a 35 year friendship together with memories of days spent at the Millarville cabin with Jack; shared birthday events and many Sunday dinners with a group of friends, all now around 90 years of age. Sheila spoke often of her nursing days, her childhood in India; the love she had for her nieces, and her faith which we shared. It was this faith that sustained her in times of difficulty and decline.
