January 13, 2024 – Mînî Thnî, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother Maisie Poucette at the age of 83 years.
Ena was born on June 9, 1940, in Mînî Thnî, AB and was called home on Saturday, January 13, 2024, to the spirit world where her husband, daughter, son, granddaughter, parents, and siblings waited to greet her.
Ena was a kind, sweet, and loving soul. She received her education at Morley Residential School. In her early days, she travelled rodeos with her husband and children. She was always a strong supporter of her children and grandchildren, often cheering them on. She enjoyed watching sports, especially slo-pitch baseball. She also loved to watch wrestling when she was at home.
Ena loved her family so much, and we are truly grateful she lived her 83 years of her life with us. All memories with her will be cherished.
Ena will be sadly missed and leaves to mourn her children, Valerie, Marlon (Marilyn), Ivan, Martina (Conrad), Angeline (Reginald), Mel (Jerome) and Mary (Glen); three adopted daughters, thirty-one grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and her only brother Jr. Twoyoungmen (Pauline). She is also survived by close cousins, Doreen, Norma, and Debbie; nieces, Syliva Bigstoney, Linda Rabbit, Nelda Bigstoney, and Shirley Poucette; nephews, Marvin Bigstoney and Bruce Wesley-Beaver; and numerous relatives from the Twoyoungmen, Dixon, Bigstoney, Kaquitts, Cecil, Poucette, Hunter, and Lefthand families. We apologize if we have missed anyone.
Maisie was predeceased by her husband Norman Poucette, daughter Germaine Poucette, son Darwin Poucette, granddaughter Leah Poucette, her parents, Isiah Twoyoungmen and Elizabeth Dixon, son-in-law David Abraham, her siblings, Norman Lefthand, Frank Twoyoungmen and Elizabeth Twoyoungmen; and her mother and father-in-law Tom and Nancy Poucette.
The family would like to thank the Stoney Health Centre Home Care workers, Kelly and Renne for all the care and support they gave to Ena and the family.
