Condolences
We are both sorry to hear of Bob's death. Bonnie had seen him only a week prior to his death, but it wasn't clear that he actually recognized her. Each of us felt Bob's positive influence in different ways over the years. Bonnie was at Alberta Children's Hospital; Richard was on a Board with him that focused on a parenting program for at-risk children. In both our experiences, we constantly saw Bob's compassion for people with challenges and disadvantages. He was also a great model for being physically active in our mountains for many decades.
I first met Bob in the 1950,s at Trinity College,U of T. We canoed Algonquin Park. Skied Osler and Lake Louise. In 1999 we canoed down the Burnside River to Bathurst Inlet. Having lived off the land with 6 Inuit families at Perry River,Queen Maud Gulf in 1977 and79 it is a pleasure to donate to Miskanawah. In spite of his contributions I am not sure the world is a better place
Dear Sacha, Guy, Lissa and family,
Bob was a real favourite of ours. He was so bright, accomplished and interesting! We immensely enjoyed our intellectual conversations and learned so much from him. We loved that he and Gill instilled such a strong sense of family and service in you all, not to mention love of physical activity and adventures in the outdoors. It was fun to hear about your vacations where no one was allowed to just lie on the beach - you all had to swim, canoe, compete… Along with each of you, we will miss him very much and remember him affectionately. Our condolences and much love to you all.
