My sincere condolences on your loss. I got to know Bertha at the manor during my visits with Joan. She was a lovely lady. I loved her sense of humour and fabulous piano playing. My thoughts and prayers to you all.

David, Deb & Janis – Your mom was indeed a “bright light” for me when I was a toddler in Estevan, Sask. Around the age of 3 or 4, I was a regular (and often uninvited) guest at your house. I’d announce to my mom “I’m going to Bertha’s” and make the trek up the street and around the corner, and she’d phone Bertha to give a heads up. She always made me feel welcome, and was as generous with her time and loving spirit as she was with the homemade treats that were always available. May she Rest in Peace.
