It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Jesse Andrew Old Woman, of Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the age of 25 years.
Jesse was a gifted artist who enjoyed sketching, and he loved his children, nieces, and nephews deeply. He grew up in the Stobart area of Siksika Nation, and in his teens, he headed for the big city. Jesse was a beloved brother, uncle, father, son, and friend. His smile and laughter were contagious, and he enjoyed adventures and making other people happy.
Jesse is survived by his children Jesley, Jaquille, Jazavaeh, and their mother Presley Alexson; father Michael Black Kettle, sister Adriene Black Kettle, brothers Elijah, Pat Jr. Jeff Bear Hat, and Shayne Fox; and aunt Bobbi Jo Old Woman.
Jesse was predeceased by his mother Josette Old Woman, brothers Cody Black Kettle, and Kelsey Old Woman; nephew Allikay Black Kettle, grandparents Patrick Sr. and Julia Bear Hat, Alec and Annie Black Kettle, and Andy and Delphine Young.
Extended families, Bear Hat, Young, Crane Bear, Fox, Breaker, Little Light, Many Heads, Running Rabbit, Spotted Ones, Red Crows, Mayfield, Cutter, Stimson, White Eagle, Wolf Child, and Wolf Leg. The family apologizes if they have missed anyone.
Funeral Services will be held at Gordon Yellow Fly Memorial Arbour (Wheatland County, AB T0J 1N0) on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Canon Stockton Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB).
