Condolences
Else, my dear aunt, was the most beautiful person you could ever imagine. Over the years we have had so many wonderful conversations over the phone and over the years we have also had the opportunity to have wonderful meetings both in Canada and Denmark. I will always miss you my loving aunt. Rest in peace. All my love Margaret
I had the true pleasure of meeting Else a number of times, back when we were all much younger. Else would welcome the Southwood Crew into her home, inviting us in, making sure we were all very comfortable and fed very well! She seemed to become Mom for anyone who walked through the door. So kind and loving. That is why both of her children also became so kind a loving. Mama taught them well!
Sending so, so much love. In a time like this, there are no words.
Love Linda
My heart is heavy with the tragic passing of my dear friend, Else.
She was my mom’s (Nettie Johnston) best friend for so many years. Their adventures together was always full of fun and laughter, whether it was shopping downtown, sewing curtains or painting a fence, they truly were “sisters” in many ways.
Else’s favorite time of year was Christmas, and the gathering of both our families was always a good time.
I will always treasure and will miss, her wise words, her humour, generosity, gentleness and kindness. So many of her stories told over coffee and Danish baking in her cozy kitchen.
Rest well my sweet, beautiful, Else. You are now together with Gil, Mom and all your family and friends who passed before you. You will never be forgotten and shopping at IKEA will never be the same without you.

Elsie was the aunt of my beloved sister-in-law Joanna Jensen. Like her sister, Ellen, Moster Elsie was delightful and fun-loving. I met her when she and Mark came to visit Joanna in California several years ago. After that, we stayed in touch with cards and phone calls. I am saddened by her and Mark’s untimely passing.

Moster Elsie was my beloved sister-in-law Joanna Jensen's aunt. She was just delightful like her sister, Ellen Jensen. I first met Moster Elsie and Mark during a visit they made to California, and we kept in touch with cards and phone calls. I had hoped to visit them in Calgary one day and am very saddened by their untimely passings.
My deepest sympathies. You were a truly lovely lady and I am glad I knew you. My heart is broken over this terrible tragedy.
I was privileged to share Bible Study time with Else and some of her special, loving friends at Church of the Cross. She knew her Bible, and treasured God's Word and her Saviour, the Lord Jesus. My mother spent many happy times with Else, visits on the phone, tea and meals. Else was a blessing to many and we will miss her dearly.
It saddens me to know I never got the chance to see her before her tragic passing, and my heart goes out to my family who are also grieving over a woman who had such a positive impact on us growing up.
If there is an afterlife, I hope her soul can finally rest peacefully and reunite with her former loved ones. If reincarnation is true, I hope she returns to the world with the same infectious optimism and kindness to spread on those who need it most.
I will miss you Aunt Else, and I will never forget you.
Growing up I believed that surly everyone had such a loving kind and caring soul in their family, when I realized this wasn't true I knew then that I was truly privileged to have my dear aunt Else in my life. I will never forget her for as long as I live and will love her dearly forever and always. Her memory will live on in the thoughts and minds of us all and those who we chose to share her wonderful lives story with. May she rest in peace knowing how loved she truly is.
We feel very blessed to have been part of Aunt Else’s family. She was one of the finest ladies I have ever known. Beautiful inside and out. Loving and so kind. Generous and caring. We loved listening to her truly inspiring stories of her life’s journey that thankfully brought her here to be a wonderful part of our lives. So many wonderful memories. Outstanding dinners filled with joy and laughter. Helpful advice and encouraging words. We are truly grateful for every moment we spent with her. Love you forever Aunt Else
