I consider myself very fortunate and blessed to have met and became friends with a guy named Peter Woolsey.
I met Pete through our employment with Bowes Publishers. Pete was one of my western Canada counterparts.
I was impressed by him from the get go. He was a super smart dude, was way ahead of the curve in our industry. He was also a born leader, respected and just plainly as cool as they come.
We never got together all that often unfortunately but when we did it was like he was a true brother.
We kept in touch so knew what was going on in each others lives.
We all have health and relationship challenges in life. I have had my share.
Pete provided me two life adventures at a couple of those tough times for me. I will never ever forget them. They were epic.
Living in a converted school bus while snowmobiling in the Rockies was the first one. The second was driving his dune buggy through the Mexico desert while he rode his dirt bike.
During our conversations we would always ask each other the standard how are you doing ? He would always, always answer I’m good. That as recent as Christmas past. I did not know he wasn’t doing so good. He would never divulge that to have you worry or express sympathy.
I can only hope everyone meets someone in your life as special as Pete was to me.
Thank you Pete for being a dear friend and providing me with the best adventures a guy could dream of. Rest in peace my friend. I will see you and someday we will have some more adventures together.
