Obituary of Freddy Lee Holloway

July 10, 1961 – Calgary, Alberta

February 3, 2024 – Morley, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Freddy Lee Holloway, at the age of 62 years.

Freddy was born on July 10, 1961, in Calgary, AB, and was raised in Morley, AB. Freddy was a very loving person who was always approachable and gave kindness and respect to everyone he greeted. Freddy had attended Morley School and Exshaw School. At a young age, he found his passion for rodeo. He started his riding career with Boy Steer Riding and progressed as a champion in buffalo riding, saddle bronc, and bareback. He travelled to many rodeos all over Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the United States. He had won many rodeos and the hearts of the rodeo fans. He will always be a champ in our hearts. He loved training horses and teaching young cowboys in his spare time.

Freddy also became a coach and helped coach his son, Clement, and his nephews Clay, Keon, Eric, and Lenny Jr., and many more to their championships. He shared these moments with his cousin Keon Holloway Sr., who he grew up with.

Freddy will be missed by his wife, Barbara, his son, Clement (Spin), his four daughters, Tashing (Marcus), Shantell (Blaine), Farrah, and Francine Black. He cherished his grandchildren and was always proud to be a grandpa of fourteen grandchildren. He will also be missed by his siblings, Homer (Sheila), Rufus (Roxanne), Eugene, and Brian Holloway; sister Mirna Rolling Mud; uncles, Horace Holloway, Arnald Simeon; aunties, Shiela Labelle, Ruby Snow and Connie (Eddie) Holloway; and his in-laws, Edwin Shawn and Francine Axe. Freddy had a lot of friends and cousins, and we apologize to all who couldn’t be on the list, too many to mention; as well as all his extended family from Pikunii (Brocket), Eden Valley, and Vernon, BC.

He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Olive Holloway, grandparents, Herman and Mildred Siemon, his daughter Mariah, son Jonas Holloway, niece, Nicole Holloway, and all his loved ones up in heaven. He was loved and cherished by his uncle and aunty who helped raise him, Eddie and Elsie Holloway.

Wake Services will be held at Freddy’s residence (Morley, AB) on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Bearspaw Youth Centre (Morley, AB) on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Holloway Family Cemetery.
