February 19, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Manuel Vaccaro. He passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the age of 58 years.
Manuel was born and raised in Calgary, AB, where he attended St. Matthew Elementary and Junior High School. He then attended high school at Our Lady of the Rockies (Bishop Grandin). Manuel later went on to receive his degree in social work from Mount Royal University.
Manuel was a musician at heart, he enjoyed playing the bass guitar and excelled at it. His passion and ability allowed him to play and record with fellow musicians in the music industry.
Growing up in the 70s and 80s, Manuel was a huge fan of the band KISS. Throughout the years, he, and his closest friend Darren Parisien, played together and started a few bands. These two were quite a pair, you would never see one without the other. Lots of shenanigans ensued with many memorable stories to remember Manuel by.
Manuel is survived by his brother Pasqualino and his wife Maria; his twin nieces, Valentina, and Victoria; his uncle Alfredo Vaccaro, and his family; along with many dear cousins and close friends.
Manuel was predeceased by his loving parents, Nicola, and Rosaria “Orestina”, and by his beloved sister, Elena Tedolina.
Manuel will be lovingly remembered by his family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall at the Church. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Mausoleum.
