Allan Starozik, beloved husband of Doreen, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the age of 89 years. Born in Cut Knife, SK, on July 31, 1934, Allan had a passion for living and raising his family for the Lord, Jesus Christ.

 

Born in Saskatchewan and raised on a farm in the Rimbey/Bentley area, Allan met Doreen at the Rimbey school, and they married in 1955. Allan graduated from Northwest Bible College in Edmonton in 1971. He was a dedicated member of the Drayton Valley Church and volunteered as a Sunday School teacher at Central Tabernacle in Edmonton. In his career, he held various jobs in the Pembina oil fields in Drayton Valley during the 1960s and worked as a pipeline control operator in Sherwood Park from the 1970s until his retirement in 1992.

 

In his free time, Allan enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, reading, and taking care of his vehicles. He also loved to travel, with multiple trips to Hawaii and spending winters in Arizona in their motorhome. Above all, Allan cherished spending time with his family, including his wife, children, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

 

Allan was predeceased by his parents, Hilda and Arthur, his siblings, Arthur Grant, Evelyn (Don), and Betty (Bob), his brother-in-law Donald, and his sister-in-law Lorna (Larry). 

 

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Doreen, his son Tim (Jola), his daughters Debbie (Brent), Lorie (Tim), and Gail (Ron), his grandchildren Jeff (Carissa), Melanie (Chris), Bryce (Shauna), Dathan (Heather), Daniel (Brooklyn), Corey (April), Camille (Graham), Bethany (Jon); and his siblings Donna (Mick), Diane (Noel); his brother-in-law Melvin (Pat) and sister-in-law Margaret.

 

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and support staff at RVH Emergency Department and FMC ICU Pods A & B. A special thank you to Dr. Lin (RVH) and Dr. Couillard, and Nurse Messie (FMC) for their compassionate care.

 

Allan will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his love for his family and friends, and his friendly nature towards everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

 

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery.
