Obituary of Robert Eric Corrigan

August 21, 1931 - North Bay, Ontario

February 28, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

We are sad to announce the passing of Robert Eric (Bob) Corrigan on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the age of 92, while enjoying a game of poker with friends at Auburn Heights Retirement Residence.

Bob was born on August 21, 1931, in North Bay, ON, to his parents Michael Joseph Corrigan and Mary Margaret Clare Sheedy. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his brothers and sisters, Rita, Lola, Geraldine, Colin, Terrance, Donald (Joe) Jack, Iris, Glen, and Dan.

Bob married Marie Scully (d.) on October 5, 1953, settling in the town of Onaping, ON, and together they raised three children, Brad (Deb), Brent (Kim), and LeeAnne (Teddy (d.)). He always enjoyed and made time for his grandchildren, Wendylynn, Jeremy, Travis (d.), Alandra (Will), Carter (d.), Marley, and Toni. He always mentioned how proud he was of his great-grandchildren, Morgan, Evan, Presley, Lily, Dominic, Charleigh, Bronson; and his great-great-grandson Leo.

Bob was an avid fan of hockey, never missing an opportunity to hit the ice. He played with the Calgary 55-plus league into his early 80s and would have gladly continued much longer but was graciously cut from the team (LOL). Bob was not only a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, but also a great man. He was always forgiving, never holding a grudge. He was charitable, always giving to various charities, and happy to lend a hand to family and strangers alike. Wherever Bob went, he easily made friends and will be greatly missed by all who had a chance to know him.

Funeral Services will be held at the Auburn Heights Retirement Residence (Chapel, 21 Auburn Bay St. SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. with a reception to follow at the retirement residence.
