Condolences
Sad days for all of us, my Grandma was such a kind force. A captivating storyteller, a wonderful listener and a beholder of potent wisdom. I really felt I could talk to her about anything and she would always offer sound advice and an alternative outlook. Anyone conversing with her could sense that she had truly lived in this world and had perhaps seen everything and done it all.
I fondly recall a story she told me about answering the phone one evening (probably right at dinner time) to a telemarketer. While she declined their offer she did acknowledge that they must hear ‘no’ all the time. She then spent the next while asking the telemarketer about themselves and how they were doing. This, I feel, perfectly captures the spirit of Hope; a no nonsense woman with a tremendous amount of compassion for all those around her. I’m so lucky that she taught me in my formative years to look for the good in everyone and the silver lining in all things in life.
I love you Grandma and will miss you forever
-Jay
Sending deepest condolences to Hope’s family. Hope was a strong yet gentle woman, full of wisdom and artistic talents, and she will be missed greatly. We are so thankful that Erin and Ken took such wonderful care of Hope in her final years, truly dedicating themselves to her. They will feel her loss most deeply. May Hope find herself surrounded by her many friends and loved ones in whatever may come next, none more closely than her beloved Andy.
