Condolences
I am sad to hear of Alan's passing. I worked with Alan at Crossbow as a Recreation Therapist. My memories of Alan included mostly sharing fishing stories and of how he was always kind and caring. Alan didn't let being in pain stop him from being kind and caring about others. After weekends off, he would ask me if I was playing baseball and wanted to know how my team did in tournaments. He genuinely cared about how people in his life were doing. I loved to make Alan laugh because if I got him really laughing he would just lose it and would wave for me to stop lol. I have many fond memories of Alan and I hope that by sharing these memories his family will be able to get a glimpse of what we all saw, a kind and caring person that we could call a friend! Blessing to all that knew him.

My husband was in Carewest Glenmore for many years and Alan was one of his nurses. I remember him being such a kind and considerate person with all the patients and the legacy he has left is remarkable. My sincere condolences to all his family.
So sorry to learn of Alan’s passing- far too young. I worked with Alan during my time with Carewest, and he was caring, compassionate, energetic, and ethical. Great qualities for a health care leader. At the same time I recall his sense of humour, and laughing heartily together at something,
I am glad to have worked with him.
My sincere condolences to the Wong family. Mr. Alan Wong was one of the best Director Of Care at the Victoria Chinatown Care Centre in Victoria B.C. Although Alan was there for less than a year, he was one of the hardest working DOC with the most passionate and dedication. He works countless hours continuously in order to help the residents with their challenges, to ensure their health, safety and comfort were met as their priorities. He was also a people person, he communicated and connected with his staff and lead them to their potential and achievements. He was a true leader, friend and a very good listener. Alan and myself, as the chair of the Society board, had a lot of great lengthy and productive conversations. We were still connected after his departure from Victoria. I’ll definitely miss him as a friend and colleague.
