Obituary of Grant Jorgenson

March 21, 1930 – Calgary, Alberta

March 8, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Grant Jorgenson, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the age of 93 years.

Grant graduated from the Dentistry program at the University of Alberta in 1953, also serving as a Captain in the Canadian Army Dental Corps, providing care to military members deployed in Europe for several years.

After leaving the army, he set up his own dental practice in Calgary, providing care to patients in the city until his retirement. Grant was an avid curler, actively participating in the medical and dental curling league throughout his working life. He enjoyed golfing and travel, combining both passions with golfing trips abroad in his retirement. He loved the outdoors, hiking, and fishing with friends and family.

Grant touched many lives with his positive outlook and sunny disposition. He spent the last two years of his life in the wonderful care of the staff at Southwood Seniors Care Center, Willow Park West Haven Center, where he could often be heard with a song on his lips.

Grant is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Marion Jorgenson, two sons, Ryan and Mark; his daughter-in-law Cecilia, and three grandchildren, Emma, William, and David Jorgenson.

Grant was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Hilda; and his siblings, Arnold, Ethel, Dolly, and Harry. Grant is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
