Condolences
Condolences on your loss.
While I never had the opportunity to meet Harry Tatro, I would have visited Fort Battleford many times during his tenure there. I just recently learned of his contributions to Fort Battleford and the Battlefords North West when I read his wonderful 'by and about' stories. It is apparent that he was a man ahead of his time and I am currently part of community efforts to re-open Fort Battleford and his article on that topic has been a significant part of our efforts. May your family enjoy his wonderful stories for generations to come, he lives on in your hearts and through his stories.

I didn’t know Harry Arthur Tatro, but I did know his son, Richard Tatro. I want to send my condolences and sympathy to Richard! Although, I haven’t seen Richard in many year, when I saw his father’s obituary in the News Optimist, I wanted to express my condolences to my old friend. I’m sorry for your loss Richard!

Our deepest sympathy on the passing of Uncle Harry. I will greatly miss his stories—from building the ranch house powered by a windmill to capture the battery power to his long and dedicated career working across Canada to preserve history. Uncle Harry was the Knowledge Keeper of family history, not just Tatro but also Beeching. Saying goodbye to such a historian comes with tears of sorrow…and gratitude for blessing us for 99 years!
Many years ago I was the flower girl at Dorothy and Harry's wedding. Now I am sending condolences to the family
So sorry to hear of the loss of your father and grandfather.
He was such a gentle and caring man .
I always enjoyed his visits to the clinic with your mom .
I hope your many memories will help you through this trying time and onwards .

One of the best memories I have of Uncle Harry was one summer at Meawasin , Loon Lake, Uncle Harry and Auntie Dot asked me to spend the week with them and Gwen. My Dad left his boat for Harry to use for the week, I was starting to ski pretty well on one ski and loved to ski. Uncle Harry loved to fish.
7AM on the dot every morning Harry would pull me on one ski from the Meawasin beach to Little Jumbo campground where we would pick up uncle Bill Beaching and head to upper Makwa fishing for the day. Harry would always gently threaten me not to fall or he might leave me as falling would cut into the fishing time. I learned to be a good slalom skier that week because of that comment. Haha
A side note as to why they asked me to stay was there was a local good looking older Loon Lake lad nicknamed Lights that started to hang around with Gwen and I think they wanted me to be the third wheel. If Gwen was hanging with this guy named Dale with a lit up green Chevy pick up.I was to go with them.
What a great week for everyone except Gwen an Dale.
