Obituary of Marion Elizabeth Boreiko

Marion Boreiko, beloved wife of Romualds (Romy) Boreiko, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the age of 79 years.
Marion was born in Victoria, BC, and lived there for several years before moving to Calgary. Later, she attended the University of Calgary. While studying for her B.Ed., she met her future husband Romy, and they married in 1967. Marion was an elementary school teacher in Calgary until she retired and had a lasting influence on many students.
She loved birds and music and volunteered for many years at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, Fort Calgary, and Theatre Calgary. Marion enjoyed travelling, outdoor activities, growing flowers, reading, and being with family.
She is survived by her husband Romy, sister Irene, and numerous extended family members in the US and Canada. We will miss her kindness and thoughtful ways.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to follow.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. A reception will take place in the Hospitality Centre of McInnis & Holloway (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB), following the graveside service.
