Obituary of Elias Cabil

Elias Cabil, beloved husband of Necitas Cabil (nee Calvo), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the age of 81 years.

Elias was born in Oras, Easter Samar, Philippines, on July 22, 1942, and immigrated to Alberta, Canada in 2022. He loved the sea and had a passion for fishing. He will be most remembered for his kindness, love, and caring nature to his family and friends.

Besides his loving wife Necitas, Elias is survived by his only daughter and son-in-law, Joann and Rex Geonzon; and grandchildren, Blaire, Romuel, and Elyl, of Calgary, AB.

Elias is also survived by his two brothers, Alfredo and Pedro Cabil of Oras, Eastern Samar, Philippines; and one sister and brother-in-law, Clarita Cabil Amboy and Arthur Amboy of Dolores, Eastern Samar, Philippines; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Elias was predeceased by his parents, brothers, and a sister.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1525 – 45th Street S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Church.
