Obituary of Paula Franca Vasconcelos
September 16, 1985 – Recife, Brazil
March 20, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Paula Vasconcelos of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the age of 38 years.
After two long years of fighting against heart and lung cancer, Paula was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of brain cancer. With huge faith, she joined this battle for three months. Paula never gave up her faith or her strong personality during this time. She joined Paradise on March 20, 2024, with God by her side.
Paula was born in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, on September 16, 1985. In 2018, she immigrated to Canada, landing in Calgary, AB. She graduated from SAIT with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism here.
Paula accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of immigrating to Canada and being able to work her path to success. She also continued to enjoy her passions of hiking and photography.
Paula’s last quote was:
“E quando a gente acha que já não pode mais, Ele vem, nos pega no colo e nos guia pelo caminho certo... Apenas confia em Deus!”
With the English translation being:
“And when we think that we cannot do it anymore, He comes, and carries us in His arms and guides us to the right path… Only trust in God!”
She will be most remembered for her friendliness among friends and family, and her strong personality.
Paula leaves behind her parents, Marta Maria Franca Vasconcelos and Paulo Fernando Montarroyos Vasconcelos; sisters, Juliana Franca Vasconcelos and Joanna Franca Vasconcelos; nieces, Isabela Vasconcelos, Silva and Maria Luísa Vasconcelos Paris; brother-in-law, Luís Fernando Bertocco Parisi, and numerous friends and relatives that deeply loved her.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Calgary Crematorium, 3219 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
