Obituary of Deborah Lea Boothman
February 19, 1954 - Edmonton, Alberta
March 20, 2024 - Nanton, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, and grandma, Debbie Boothman, at the age of 70 years, on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Calgary, AB.
Debbie was born on February 19, 1954, in Edmonton, AB, the younger of Everett and Lelah's two daughters. At an early age, she and her family moved to Red Deer and then to Calgary when she was thirteen. Soon after, she met who would become her lifelong love of 53 years, Roger Boothman.
Mom is reunited with her parents and her sister, Roxanne MacDonald. She will always be loved and cherished by her children, Ross (Loveen) Sanders, Jason Boothman (Rebecca Paquette), Lindsay (Kevin) O’Brien, Tara Boothman, and her six grandchildren, Manas, Wilhelmina, Adelaide, Evelyn, Rowan, and Watson.
Debbie held several careers, including working as a medical transcriptionist at the Colonel Belcher Hospital in downtown Calgary, day home operator, and as a bookkeeper. However, her most cherished role was being a mom and later, a grandma. She was always supportive of each of her children and encouraged them to pursue their interests. She loved baking, gardening, completing jigsaw puzzles, and playing word games. She was incredibly talented at crocheting, dedicating countless hours to creating heirlooms for those she loved.
She gave so much to us, expressing her love every day. We will always remember her, and her memory will be a blessing as we move forward without her physical presence in our lives. Rest in peace, Mom. We will always love you.
