Condolences
My deepest condolences to your family.
I was included and spent a very lovely Christmas celebration with the Gerry’s a few years ago. It was such a pleasure meeting Mr. Gerry and his family. He had a great sense of humour, and a wealth of knowledge and life experiences. I was in awe. We had a wonderful time together and I could feel the love in the family. We sang Christmas carols and had lots of laughs.
One thing I remember vividly was the love and dedicated care he showed towards their family dog. It was very sweet.
May you rest in peace.
Yours truly,
Jiajie

I have known Mr. Gerry through my friend Kate; I never met him in person, but I feel like I know him in person.
Thank you so much, Kate, for letting me know what a great person your dad is. It's a blessing to be such a loving, caring, loyal, strong, passionate, and funny dad to your daughters and a loving husband to your wife.
I am sending to the entire family all my love and condolences.
May God rest his soul in complete peace.

Dudley was a legend and will be greatly missed.
I remember I was out pheasant hunting with some friends on a crisp late October morning close to the Patrica Hotel. The road to release pheasant release site was not very accessible due to some recent rain fall. My friends and I didn’t have any issues getting in as we had a pick up truck with 4 wheel drive. After shooting our limit of birds, went back to the truck to enjoy a beer and a pepperoni.
While sitting on the tail gate we spotted this dusty green sedan bumping down this muddy rutted out road. We thought who is this crazy bugger he is going to get stuck. As the car pulled up the driver side window rolled down a there sat Dudley. I smiled and thought well if anyone knows these roads, it’s him.
I jokingly said “ Dudley what the hell are you doing here”? He responded with “McEwan! what the hell are you doing here”? He then went on to tell us that it was his 85th and decided to head out to the Patricia Hotel with his dog Copper.
We asked him if he would like to join us hunting and he politely declined, saying we would only slow him down. Ha ha. We had a wee dram and wished him happy birthday. Cooper jumped out of the car Dudley grabbed his gun and they both stomped their way through the tall prairie grass.
As he walked out of sight, my friends commented on his personality, wit, and vibrancy. We all agreed how amazing it is to be chasing down pheasant at 85 by yourself. We could only be so lucky.
Dudley always left an impression.

I was saddened to hear of Dudley's passing. I always enjoyed spending time at your house during high school/university and visiting with your Dad, Kate and Janet. He made me laugh with his strong opinions. He definitely did not suffer fools gladly! :) He always showed such big love for the three of you and so much pride. He had a great spirit and a fantastic dry wit. He made me feel very welcome at your house and I appreciated that he took an interest in what I was up to as well. I saw him a few years ago after he and your mom moved to Oakridge and we chatted for a while and he took me in to see the new house. It was great to catch up with him then and to see him with his dog from time to time in the off-leash area. I am thinking of the three of you and sending you much love. I know how much he'll be missed.
Take good care.
Love,

You could tell Dudley was a blue blood of the outdoors, with a ready wit, a droll comment to a light tease. I certainly learned the art of the Power Nap from him! He came over to England many times and he brought joy and he brought the expanse of Rocky Mountains over in his ways. RIP Dudley.

Loved that ! He
Brought joy ! You will miss him!
We’re deeply saddened about the passing of our beloved neighbor. Dudley’s vibrant spirit and zest for life were truly remarkable.
His adventurous nature, whether hunting, skiing, or painting, inspired everyone around him. Dudley lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment enthusiastically and gracefully.
His furry companions were not just pets but cherished members of his family, providing unwavering companionship. He touched many hearts, and his memory will forever live on in the stories shared and the lives he influenced.
He will be greatly missed.
Much love,
Owen and Rebecca
