Obituary of Amy Gertrude Paisley

August 4, 1949 – Unity, Saskatchewan

March 29, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Amy “Trudy” Gertrude Paisley of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the age of 74 years.

Trudy was born in Unity, SK, on August 4, 1949. Before moving to Calgary, AB, in 1996, she lived in Saskatoon, SK, Regina, SK, Edmonton, AB, Mississauga, ON, and Winnipeg, MB.

She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1971, with a Bachelor of Education. She was a beloved member of Beta Sigma Phi, where she made many friends and enjoyed organizing and attending their events.

Trudy accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her gardening, scrapbooking, and baking. She ensured family recipes were passed down and enjoyed by her sons and grandchildren.

She enjoyed playing cards and games with family, especially Yahtzee with her granddaughters, and attending Sirrs family get-togethers. She also loved to travel, especially with her dear friends around Europe, and on Disney vacations with her sons and grandchildren.

She will be most remembered for her warmth, kindness, and ability to make others feel welcome.

Trudy is survived by her two sons, Conor (Jen) Paisley, and Craig (Kayla) Paisley of Calgary, AB; and her three grandchildren, Anna, Callum, and Mia.

She is also survived by her brother Jim (Hope) Sirrs of Kimberley, BC; her three sisters-in-law Jan Sirrs, Carol Paton, and Debbie Paisley; her brother-in-law Bob Paisley, mother-in-law Rose Paisley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Trudy was predeceased by her parents Maisie and Alfred Sirrs, and brothers Jack Sirrs and Doug Sirrs.

A Celebration of Trudy's Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
