Condolences
Our family will miss Ted greatly. He is still my little Teddy. Yes, of course when he got older he had to break his aunts penchant for calling him Teddy, but he still fondly let me call him Teddy. We had such fun sending pictures of our wee animal partners. He had his marvelous Gandalf and I had the Hobbit and Sam. Gosh he loved his cat like a friend and Gandolf followed him anywhere like a dog would accompany his best friend. My Sam is a feral who decided to join me at 3 years old and both our creatures gave us great stories to share with each other. What fun stories we shared of our beloved pets. Bill, Ted's father is now being looked after by Gandalf . Im sure Ted thinks so. I have so many awesome memories I just couldn't write them all here. It would take a book because Ted sqeezed in so many adventures and did so much in his time on earth. He is certainly on a new adventure with loved ones that we said goodbye to before he joined them. Sooner than a blink of an eye in the scheme of things we will all be joining Ted and his brother John who departed just a few years before Ted. I'm sure his grandmother, who adored him and his brother John are welcoming Ted now. Gosh, I love you young man. I to adore you sweetheart .
My deepest condolences to every one in the family.
My memories of Ted are alas a bit short not having spent much time with him since he was quite young. Camping in our backyard years ago and the excitement generated by story telling. On a camping trip on the Bruce Trail in Ontario we were hit by one of the worst tornados on record in the area. Ted sprang into action bringing everyone into the car and out of the tents. Protecting his mom and his little brother with such clarity and efficiency. It is clear he was so comfortable in the woods and his sense of what to do in severe weather must have informed his choices to study meteorology and associated disciplines . It was an indelible experience and is deep in my memory.
We have lots of fond memories with Ted and the kids on the lake. We'll never forget the smile getting up first time on water skies and whipping around on the tube. He used to ride his bike out here even through the pouring rain to spend time with us. He was always eager to lend a hand getting firewood with Danny and I as well as all kinds of other chores. I enjoyed skiing with Ted even though I could hardly keep up. He was a good chess player whom I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of playing against. We admire and respect his enthusiasm for the outdoors he was the real thing a genuine mountaineer we loved and will truly miss.
Ted really enjoyed visiting a forest and wildlife reserve in Haliburton Ontario. We went on a 'walk in the trees' one summer, along platforms that brought us high enough to walk through the tree-tops. Ted's interest in the natural world was clear to everyone, it was an exciting adventure.
I was just riding dirtbikes at the end of last summer with Ted and recently talking about Trip plans for this summer. Ted always had a thirst for adventure and going off the beaten path. He will be greatly missed.
I remember visiting with Ted when he was around 5 or 6 years old. He had all sorts of Star Wars toys at the time. One was a wind up spaceship. We were watching TV on night when he sent it whizzing by. Seeing it from the corner of my eye, I thought it was a white mouse. Boy oh boy did he have fun with that!
