Condolences
I saw the announcement of Jake’s passing in the Western Wheel and saddened to see the news. Jake was a member of the Board of Directors at Cheyenne Energy when I worked as the CFO. My first introduction was in preparation for a meeting and our CEO informed me that we would be partaking in a glass of scotch after the meeting because that’s what Jake does. Being the only female in attendance and never had scotch before and my first board meeting, I was a little nervous. I have loved scotch since and shared many laughs and enjoyed so many of his stories and quips. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered!
My deepest condolences go out to Donna, Lisa, Sue and family. I still remember over 50 years ago that I spent about a week I staying with your family while my parents traveled. I remember your Mom, with the voice of a southern Belle calling your father "Jakey" as a form of endearment. I always thought of him as "Jakey" after that.
I am saddened to hear about the end of Jake’s adventurous spirit and zest for life that were evident to all he crossed paths with. It truly marks the end of a colourful era. May his memories bring your family comfort during this time.
Regards,
Valerie Noval
To Donna, Lisa and Sue, our sincerest condolences. Jakie was unique, interesting and always fun to be around. His stories of the early days in the oil patch were legendary. Although we missed the early days of the Friday night socials, (we were too young!) we caught up later in life and felt privileged to be a part of his vast circle of friends. He will be missed.

We’re saddened to learn about Jake’s passing. Jake was a real fighter, he lived for many years after losing his arm! He knew somebody everywhere he went, or they knew him. I regret having lost touch with Jake! We went on several hunting trips and we both really enjoyed ourselves. RIP Jake!
