Obituary of Robert Odulph Bernard Jansen

Robert Jansen of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the age of 72 years.

Robert was born in Bussum, The Netherlands on May 29, 1951. He graduated from Erasmus University Rotterdam with an Economics degree and a Master of Business Administration degree.

He immigrated to Canada in 1979, working initially as a commodity trader, and then for several years, as an oil and gas land negotiator.

He enjoyed hiking in Kananaskis Country, cycling, vintage cars, and impressionist art.  He never forgot his Dutch roots, returning regularly with Paul and Alex to connect with family and tour central Europe.

He is survived by his sons, Paul and Alex; siblings, all in Europe, Els (Aad), Lex, Frederik, Gabrielle, and Stephanie; niece Hester (Jeroen), and great-nephews, Thijmen and Pepijn. He was predeceased by his parents and his nephew, Vincent (2004). 

A private service will be held.
