Obituary of Michael Joel Davison HURAS

April, 2, 1993 – Calgary, AB August, 29, 2014 – Calgary, AB It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael, beloved son of Loreen and Dan Huras, on August 29, 2014 at the age of 21. Mike loved sports and grew up snowboarding, playing basketball, football, and golf among many others. He was born and raised in Calgary, and was going in to his fourth year of Business at MRU where he recently made the Dean’s Honors list. Mike was always trying to organize activities and make sure people had fun, and this was reflected in his involvement at MRU. He was one of the founders of the MRU Ski Club, and also ran the MRU recreational flag football league. Mike loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends, and his family will cherish many amazing memories of trips taken together. Mike was known among friends as a guy who would always be there for you, ready to listen or provide advice, and for having a big heart. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and will forever be in our hearts. Mike is survived by his loving parents Dan and Loreen Huras; sister Kaitlyn Huras; grandparents Stan and Bette Davison and Anna Mae Huras; his many aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, and beloved dog Lexi. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Calgary Winter Club (4611 14th Street NW.), on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. in the Panorama/ Skyline Room. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Recreation Student Staff Scholarship Fund at MRU (403-440-7700). Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Mike Huras, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
