Obituary of Allan Royer DeChenne

Allan DeChenne, of Strathmore, AB, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the age of 82 years surrounded by his family.
Allan was born in Lacombe, AB, on January 6, 1942. He grew up in the Craigmyle area, moving to Carbon when he was older, then later settling in Calgary, AB.
He met his soulmate and the love of his life Donna Snydmiller. They were married on August 18, 1962.
Allan worked in the trucking industry for over 40 years.
He adored his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved camping and travelling and enjoyed many trips down to the Oregon Coast, USA. Allan enjoyed going to Krista and Jeff’s farm and spending time with his great-grandkids.
Allan is survived by his four daughters, Michelle (Joe) Thomson, Deanna DeChenne, Corry Robinson, and Patty DeChenne (Clay Henkel); seven grandchildren, Krista (Jeff) Wheale, Allan (Jess) Thomson, Jordan (Karen) Kersch, Coralee Thomson, Zack Robinson, Joshua Henkel, and Alyssa Henkel; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe, and Piper Wheale.
He is also survived by his brother James DeChenne, two sisters, Muriel (Marcel) Lacoste and Margaret DeChenne; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.
Allan was predeceased by Donna DeChenne (2014), parents, Frank and Kathleen (nee Malone) DeChenne; brothers, Art DeChenne and Victor DeChenne; and sisters, Bessie Nebogie, Marion Anderson, Dodie Gordon, and Francis Maetche.
We the family would like to thank all the Strathmore Hospital and Rockyview Hospital ICU Unit staff for their care, support, and compassion.
A Celebration of Allan’s Life will be held at Marlborough Park Community Centre (6021 Madigan Dr. NE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.
